What are the signs of worn suspension?
Clunks over bumps, wandering on the highway, nose-dive under braking, a floaty ride, or tires wearing in scallops. On German cars the usual first failures are sway bar links and control arm bushings — inexpensive if caught before they take the tires with them.
How long does air suspension last?
Air springs and struts on Mercedes AIRMATIC and similar systems typically give 8–10 years before leaks start — Florida heat is not kind to rubber. We repair the failed corner or component; you rarely need the complete-system replacement a dealer may propose.
Do shocks and struts need to be replaced in pairs?
Yes, per axle. A new damper working next to a worn one gives uneven grip and unstable braking. We also check alignment afterward, because suspension work changes the geometry the car was aligned to.
Why does my steering feel loose or wander?
Worn tie rods, bushings or ball joints — or simply alignment out of spec. We road test, put the car on the lift and check each joint under load, then quote exactly what is worn instead of replacing parts wholesale.
