Why does a new battery need to be coded to the car?
BMW, Mercedes and most modern European cars manage charging based on the battery age and type they are told about. Skip the registration and the car overcharges the new battery, shortening its life and inviting electrical gremlins. Every battery we install is registered correctly.
Why does my battery keep dying overnight?
A parasitic drain — usually a control module that never goes to sleep. Replacing batteries does not fix it; the new one dies the same way. We measure the draw circuit by circuit until we find the module that is staying awake.
How long do car batteries last in Florida?
Three to four years is realistic here — heat is harder on batteries than cold. After year two, have it tested annually. A weak battery on a modern European car causes far stranger symptoms than slow cranking.
Can a weak battery cause warning lights?
Absolutely. Low system voltage confuses the dozens of control modules on a modern car and produces random warnings that look like expensive failures. That is why a battery and charging test is step one of every electrical diagnosis we do.
